“THE quality of the work and the calibre of the people who did my own kitchen refit made me think: ‘If these idiots can do it then I should be able to make a much better go of it.’”
That sentiment was one of the main factors that led Colin Lynch to open Dream Doors Lanarkshire in his hometown six years ago.
The former financial advisor was looking for a change of career and knew franchising for the UK’s #1 kitchen makeover company was the way forward.
“I had been a financial advisor and general insurance broker for 25 years, but I fancied doing something different. The kids had started school and the financial service industry had changed a bit and I didn’t really enjoy working in it any more.
I was pretty much set on going down the franchise route – I wanted a business that had a tried and tested model. I looked at a variety of different ones, but Dream Doors ticked all the boxes.
The kitchen industry was something I knew a little bit about because I’d had a bad experience prior to that having my own kitchen fitted. The quality of the work and the calibre of the people who did my own kitchen refit made me think: ‘If these idiots can do it then I should be able to make a much better go of it.
My wife Allison and I have been going for six years and have learnt a lot in that time – especially about maximising our local presence. We use Facebook to generate the majority of our enquiries. We have over 27,000 followers and, for every kitchen we complete, we post a before and after photo.
People actually come into the showroom excited because they’ve seen kitchens we’ve already fitted.”
Dream Doors is looking for more talented franchisees like Colin and Allison who are ready to generate huge profits by representing an industry-leading brand.
