Rob Williams will soon be celebrating 10 years of success with InXpress. He bought his franchise in Birmingham North West in November 2006 and has been enjoying the benefits and rewards of growing a business ever since!
Having originally begun his career as an Insurance Broker and having owned and operated a member of small businesses before joining InXpress, Rob was looking for a new business that would complement his skills and experience whilst providing greater rewards for his efforts and felt that joining InXpress could prove to be a career defining change of direction.
"There are so many great benefits of being a franchisee, particularly in a fast growing marketplace and we were particularly pleased to have recently been able to purchase our own office premises. It has also been a great pleasure to see our staff rewarded with Accolades from the Franchisor for their achievements in sales within InXpress and I would like to think I was one of the first franchisees to embrace running an InXpress franchise as a management franchise. Prior to our involvement it was predominantly perceived as an owner operator franchise".
One of the huge benefits of running an InXpress franchise is the fact that it can be run as a management franchise opportunity which leaves many franchisees with the option to pursue other passions outside of their businesses – something Rob has been enjoying.
"We have developed our business to such a great standard now that we are delighted to be playing an active part in the InXpress Gives Back programme, a new initiative to get franchisees to think about their place in the wider community and give a little bit of their time, money or both, to the charities supported by InXpress.
I think that the best franchises on the market still require hard work, long hours and a can-do attitude so would recommend anyone thinking of opting to buy a franchise not to underestimate the physical and emotional, as well as the financial investment that you are making to the business. Work hard on your business plan to try and foresee the peaks and troughs of your business cycle, because if you ever have to worry unnecessarily about keeping on track, it will drain the energy and enthusiasm that you always need to be putting into your sales and success".
InXpress is one of the world’s largest franchisors of worldwide express parcel delivery and transportation services. They are the number one reseller of express courier services offering solution for internal and domestic express services. Franchisees offer express, freight and mail services through world-class carriers that customers know and trust. InXpress gives those with business or management experience the chance to develop their existing skillsets to build scalable and flexible businesses with high earning potential.
Ben Kirby, Franchise Sales Director, concludes:
"Having someone like Rob on board in our network is testament to the longevity and success of our business. We continuously innovate so that our franchisees can continue to grow their businesses, stay ahead of their competition and ahead of changes in technology. To be in business for a decade in such a competitive market speaks volumes for both our business and to Rob’s dedication to success".
Still looking to add to his growing business which has seen sales rise by 15% in 2016, Rob is currently recruiting to add a sixth team member to the team at his Codsall offices which serves clients in Wolverhampton, Telford, Shrewsbury and throughout Staffordshire.
"It has been a great adventure to be a part of the InXpress success story and, 10 years on, we still feel that our best growth is ahead of us both locally and for the rest of the franchisees nationally".

Neil Hatt talks to us about running his business in Birmingham, why he chose InXpress and his plans for the future.
I’ve known about franchising for quite a while and I’m reassured by the fact that 95% of franchisees are still in business after 5 years. New businesses often fail before the initial five years.Bill Carter, Liverpool franchisee since 2008
With InXpress you don’t buy or sell stock so the business has low overheads and you don’t lose money on damaged stock. You’re selling the services of world branded products and it’s much easier to sell DHL services than white van. E-commerce is booming at the moment because more and more people are now buying online.Craig Atkins, Reading franchisee since 2007
I chose to franchise with InXpress because it’s like someone’s got their arm around you. I also liked the fact that you didn’t need a lot to run the business. You can run it from home, an office or anywhere in the world as long as you’ve got an internet connection.Kully Sahota, Peterborough franchisee since October 2012
