Enfields ready to respond to Government changes for HIPs

The sudden Government u-turn on the mandatory introduction of Home Information Packs (HIPs) may have brought confusion to the property industry and general public alike but award-winning estate agency group Enfields declares that its team is ready to respond to customer enquiries.

Speaking in the House of Commons on Tuesday 22nd May, Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly announced a delay in the implementation of Home Information Packs from 1st June 2007, as originally planned, to August 2007.

She also announced a shift of emphasis for the packs explaining that the Government intends to phase their introduction commencing with larger properties with a minimum of four bedrooms. It has been suggested that the changes have been made to ensure the smooth introduction of the new systems and, that in particular, there are enough appropriately trained surveyors on hand to carry out energy reports on homes – a key component of the packs.

Although these last minutes changes have brought added controversy to the HIPs debate, Enfields believes that Home Information Packs, if implemented correctly, will potentially improve the property sales cycle and has worked hard to put the measures in place to deliver a quality HIPs solution. C

ommenting on the latest changes, Managing Director Rob Mott states, “Enfields has been keeping a close eye on the introduction of Home Information Packs for many years and whilst we were fully prepared for what we believed would be the introduction of the packs on the 1st June we are not phased by these sudden changes. The parameters of this scheme have been shifted several times over the years and we fully anticipated that this would happen. We urge customers to contact us if they are at all confused about the introduction of Home Information Packs and we ensure customers that we are prepared to respond to such changes and will remain fully equipped for when the packs eventually come into force.”

As part of its HIPs strategy, Enfields has kept a close watch on the Home Information Pack debate, conducted its own survey on customers and taken part in regional trials and as a result has been able to tailor its systems, train staff and enhance its provisions for producing HIPs in order to maintain the agency’s complete service ethos.

Enfields believes that it has established the perfect partnership with now hips, a registered Home Information Pack provider that will enable the agency to process Home Information Pack enquiries so that property being placed on the market meets the new Government guidelines with the minimum of fuss to clients.

Dan Butt, Managing Director for now hips states, “We have been working extremely closely with Enfields to ensure our service is amongst the best on the market and will now be focused on implementing the latest Government announcements. We share Enfields passion for keeping excellent customer at the forefront of every operation and as such have designed systems that will see Enfields’ customers benefit from all the advantages Home Information Packs are intended to make to the property sales cycle. Trials have revealed that our advanced systems deliver prompt, competitive and hassle-free Home Information Pack solutions for customers.”
