Global business consultancy franchise, The Quantum Organization, held their latest continuing professional development day this month with the focus on negotiating equity deals with clients alongside the usual retained and results based fees.
Quantum franchisees regularly negotiate results fees based on the increased profits they bring to their clients; however, a growing number of consultants now also hold significant equity stakes in their clients in return for ‘intellectual investment’.
“About 10% of our consultants now have equity stakes in their clients which is great news. Our top performer in this area earns retained fees of £80,000 pa which is fairly average for Quantum but his shareholdings should net him between 2 and 3 million over the next 3 years.” Said Peter Lisney, Managing Partner at Quantum.
