Urban Planters Leicestershire: Working together for success
15th January 2008 - Urban Planters
Ary and Sheena Saaman started up their Urban Planters franchise in 1997 when they were looking for a change of career and a new challenge which they could work together to achieve.
‘We wanted our own businesses, but with the security of being part of a franchise network,’ explained Sheena. ‘Ary is Dutch and has always been interested in plants – Holland is Europe’s main tropical plant supplier – so Urban Planters seemed to tick all the boxes.’
Since they started, the business has gone from strength to strength. They have built up an excellent reputation within the industry, achieving a collection of national recognized awards for sales achievements, their maintenance service and their designs. They now employ four members of staff and their clients range from small businesses, hotels and bars to large corporations such as, the BBC, Next, Alliance & Leicester, Argos, Asda and Champneys Springs.
‘When we started we couldn’t have imagined how successful the business would be,’ Ary added. ‘We worked hard from the outset and it has really paid off. There has been so much positive change in the business over the past decade and we are looking forward to seeing what successes the next ten years will bring.’
