It’seeze consultant Oliver Brock, 36, Colchester

I'm a graphic-design graduate who worked in sales and marketing for Pepsi and Britvic, although my last sales role was selling metal roof systems to architects.

When I was looking around for a franchise in 2009, I guess the combination of design and selling kicked in, which is why this business appealed. Then, when I met the guys from Spoton.net, and I saw how dedicated, friendly and hardworking they were, it wasn't a hard decision.

The training is excellent – there's a lot to take in, but Spoton.net make it easy to understand and continue to work closely with you to keep you up to speed. I think the businesses I sell to like it'seeze because of the local support, because they don't have to pay thousands to get a quality website and because they can control and edit their content themselves, very easily and without having to wait for a web developer to do it for them.

For me, it's a great business because it's easy to manage. If you set yourself a target of five sales a month, you won't go far wrong, but you have to talk to people. You have to kiss a few frogs. My best month so far was June 2009 when I took on nine new clients and I have now gone way past the century landmark and looking to be the first franchisee to reach 150 website sales.

Yes, the product's websites and related internet and marketing services, but you can forget about web design, you can forget about programming – it's all about getting out to meet potential clients, building a rapport and selling them your services.
